  • Diesel engine questions

Well, I think I blew the head gasket on my Ford 1310 tractor. Anyone know anything about diesel engines?

I did a bit of research and see it isn't terribly difficult to change the head gasket so I ordered the parts and a shop manual so I have the head bolt order.

I also know nothing, but might be able to come over and watch/assist. Perhaps I could hold a beer for you? I mean, you wanted it emptied, right?

I picked it up sometime in July or August. It is a 1985 model with a front end loader. I used it to plow the driveway.

My fault, I over revved it.

Stop trying to cover for Ford faults.

Actually, it is a Shibaura engine, not Ford.

Older Tractors are generally pretty easy to work on, lots of room, usually not many special tools.

Don't know anything specifically about Fords, but we have rebuilt lots of Olivers and Whites in our shop. We can do it in our sleep, lots cheaper to keep the old stuff running then the new stuff.

Its not harder than changing a head gasket on a gas motor. May have to take more stuff off or not.
Wait a minute. Look at those shifty eyes. That devious half-smile. Those kazoo-kissed lips.

Working again. I need to adjust the valves a better though.
